Breckenridge Exploring Day

October 29th (Saturday)

We decided to spend the day in Breckenridge on Saturday. After picking up a donut (of course), we headed for a hike! The hike planned to be about 2 and a half hours (The Spruce Creek Loop).

You feel so small walking among these trees!
the snow up close
We went down a different trail for a bit to feel the water because if you see water, you have to feel the temperature!
but the result of going down a different trail was worth it , with this view at the end
Fascinated by the green on this tree (and a lot of other trees). It looks like dried algae from a lake!

Once we were back on our intended trail, we met a nice snow-birding couple from St.Paul, MN that came to Colorado to see the snow before heading to Florida for the winter!

After the hike, walked around Breckenridge, popping in and out of the shops and finding a cafe for lunch to eat outside since the sun was shining!

Breckenridge definitely had more shops open and WAY more people than Keystone or Copper Mountain

Post-lunch, we did a .1 mile hike to see the Breckenridge Troll on the Trollstigen Trail. The troll's real name is Isak Heartstone. He was built by the Danish artist Thomas Dambo, who is known worldwide for bringing awareness to recycling and upcycling by building great things out of trash.

We did one last mini hike that took us along one of the ski routes in Breck!

On to Buena Vista!
