Capitol Reef & Canyonlands National Parks

November 12th (Saturday)

We headed out Saturday morning (Nov 12th) from Kanab toward Capitol Reef National Park. It seemed on the way-ish to Canyonlands. Similar to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park (what a long name), I again felt a need to visit Capitol Reef because I feel like it is often forgotten about when you talk about Utah's national parks.

We have since learned that Capitol Reef has significantly more visItors each year, compared to Canyonlands. (You can find data about every national park here- it is fun to look through). I compiled the Annual Park Recreation Visitors numbers, from the last 3 years, for Utah's 5 National Parks. We were very surprised to see that Capitol Reef beat out Canyonlands for attendance (we are still talking about it).

ANYWAY.. back to our adventures. We did a quick driving tour of the scenic route through the park.

The drive next to the park is also a registered scenic byway. We lost service doing form Capitol Reef to Canyonlands so the drive look a little bit longer than expected

That is all I wrote in November so now the rest will be pictures

We then drove to the hotel in Moab we were staying at for the night - favorite part of this hotel was the 3 different hot tubs and the fact that it was s'more night!
